Have you tried Mayo Chiki? I’d like to see you’re comments on it, personally I like reviewing Animes as well on my facebook group, but about 70% of your views and my views are very different. I’m open to opinions from you as I know you are much more experienced in reviewings that I am. I don’t think I’ve watched as much Anime as you, but I think I love it just as much as you. If you have a facebook, can you add me? My facebook name is “Terence LuvsAnime”, I look forward to sharing thoughts of the one thing we both love, but have different views on it, Anime.
No, I have not tried Mayo Chiki. I was turned away from its premise of “a boy that’s actually a girl” and its school setting. It all just sounded so generic. I’ll most likely give it a try sometime though, since I usually feel guilty about turning down a show so quickly without even giving it a one episode trial.
And, I really don’t think of myself as very experienced in reviewing. I only started blogging in January of this year. And while I do have some practice in reviewing American/British literature, none of it is professional as of yet.
If I ever start a facebook page for my online personality, I may go ahead and friend you. As things are now, I only have my private facebook profile, one that I prefer to give access only to my close friends and family. Thank you for the thought! We can definitely continue to share anime thoughts on here and anywhere else you may have an account, like AnimeSuki or MyAnimeList.
looking at your list, its a shame you havent got the best ongoing anime now (that being the science fiction steins;gate which is head and shoulders above the rest), out of the ones you stated though:
Natsume Yuuginchou
Usagi Drop
Kamisama no Memochou
Mawaru Penguindrum
Thanks for the comment, Dylan. I actually have Steins;Gate up to the recent episode, and do plan on watching it once I have them all. It looked like an anime I’d want to watch huge chunks of at a time, so I didn’t want to have to wait week-to-week to watch it. I also have a ton of airing anime on my list!
And despite the very cliched anime…mayo chiki is actually very funny. As funny as Baka to test funny, though I personally think funnier in some moments. But yes…it would be classed as ecchi…but it isnt anything disturbing. Yea…I get your point with steins;gate, around episode 8, it starts becoming extremely good with a plot twist every episode. I class two series this year as top standard:
Madoka
Anohana (and Im not too sure about this)
if steins gate has a good ending, it will be up there as the third
Dantalian no Shoka
Hanasaku Iroha
Ikoku Meiro no Croisée
Kamisama Dolls
Kamisama no Memochou
Mawaru Penguindrum
Mayo Chiki
Nurarihyon no mago
Natsume Yuujinchou San
Steins;Gate
Tiger & Bunny
Usagi Drop
I put baka to test, sacred seven and no.6 on hold. Although the latter seems to be an alright scifi with a good plot (similar to 07-Ghost the last series that director made), like 07-Ghost its slightly yaoi or shounen-ai, which putting me off it slightly…though personally, if it is good, like 07-Ghost was, I dont care.
I haven’t updated my MAL profile in ages, but I did it mostly through Photoshop. I compiled a bunch of images from favorite shows and rendered some of the shapes and patterns.

Space Brothers just started. I enjoyed the first episode. It got me hooked from the beginning with the first couple of lines/words spoken.

Two episodes in, and I’m still hooked 🙂

I was wondering how you made your ‘MyAnimeList’ profile look like that? I’m new so to it so sorry, if there’s an obvious answer.
